Who We Are

The Pediatric Nutrition Practice Group (PNPG) is a dietetic practice group of the American Dietetic Association (ADA). We are an active group of more than 3000 practitioners who provide nutrition services for the pediatric population in a wide variety of settings.

Our members include registered dietitians (RDs), dietetic technicians, registered (DTRs), and other ADA members who recognize the vital role of good nutrition in the growth and development of infants, children and adolescents. PNPG activities focus on education, research, networking, and service.

PNPG is dedicated to promoting optimal nutrition as part of healthy lifestyles for all infants, children, adolescents through education, research and service by qualified dietetics professionals.

Vision

PNPG members are leaders in promoting optimal nutritional health of infants, children and adolescents.

Values

Excellence: PNPG members are involved in the development, implementation, and evaluation of evidence-based principles in nutrition policy, programs, services and research.

Leadership: PNPG members will be recognized as leaders in the field of pediatric nutrition by the ADA, other agencies, the ADAF, and by other agencies, consumers, health care professionals and public policy makers.

Communications: PNPG will promote timely and effective communication among nutrition and other health care professionals, and to the public.

Collaboration: PNPG will promote open dialog, cooperation, and the sharing of knowledge. Social Responsibility: PNPG will advocate for infants, children and adolescents on issues affecting nutritional health.

Inclusivity: PNPG will demonstrate respect and sensitivity toward and an appreciation for the backgrounds, differences and points of view of others.

Service: PNPG will provide services, materials, and resources to its members and other health care professionals and organizations that promote the mission of the PNPG.

Family: PNPG will recognize the pivotal role of the family in pediatric nutrition.

Building Blocks for Life is a quarterly newsletter publication that provides peer-reviewed articles focusing on child or adolescent nutrition-related themes.

PNPG Post, also a quarterly newsletter publication, keeps members up-to-date on continuing education opportunities, legislative issues, publications, job opportunities and other communications regarding various PNPG activities and member benefits.

Annual Reports

To Join

DPG dues are paid annually, along with ADA membership dues. ADA members may join a DPG almost any time during the year by paying appropriate dues. (The last day in February is the end of the period to join a DPG for the membership year ending May 31.) Dues vary depending on the DPG.
